Sunday School for All Ages
Sunday mornings 9:15a. September through May youth from pre-school to senior high meet for a time of learning about their Savior Jesus. Skits, crafts, activities, and movie clips are used in teaching. In the summer months Sunday School turns into a "Vacation Bible School" theme when all classes meet together and outside activities are often included.
Wednesday evenings 5 to 7p September through May. King Of Our Lives (KOOL Kids) is a program for youth from 3rd grade to 6th grade. It includes supper, devotions, interactive lessons, games, and fun. Wednesday evenings at Lord of the Lakes can be loud and noisy and chaotic.
Wednesday evenings 5 to 7p September through May. Confirmation is a two year program at Lord of the Lakes (typically 7th & 8th grade). We use the Bible and Luther's Small Catechism. Supper is provided.
Compassion International Sponsor
Our Sunday School sponsors and collects fund for a Compassion International Child: Franchesca Lornezo, in the Dominican Republic.
Winter Youth Retreat
Each winter we host a weekend retreat for youth, 7th grade and older. Bible studies, snow tubing, broom-ball, and movies make for a fun weekend of learning, play, and the building of long lasting friendships!
Youth Pie Night
This is for 7th - 12th grade students on Wednesday evenings 7:30p at Village Inn in Wyoming, MN. If you buy a beverage, pie is free! Our Pastor and Youth Director both attend and you never know where the conversation will end up. Friends are always welcome.
LCMS National Youth Gathering
Every three years we take our youth to the National Youth Gathering - joining over 20,000 other Lutheran Youth from around the world. The Gathering provides fun, education, and inspiration. Shelly and Pastor Bertram have been very involved in Servant Event planning for the Gatherings.
In non-Gathering years we either host or participate in youth Servant Events. At our event we host youth from around the nation to do work projects in our local community - focusing on helping low income, elderly, or disabled people to be able to stay in their homes. We have done home repairs, painting, deck construction, fence repair, demolition, and many other things. Evenings include recreation activities. Friday we canoe on the St. Croix River followed by an overnight camping trip. We say goodbye after a special church service Sunday morning.
